Dr. Lauren Chong, ND

Naturopathic Doctor | General Practitioner

Dr. Lauren is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in the state of California, serving El Dorado & Sacramento County.

A true Cameron Park native, she attended the local elementary, middle, and high schools before moving away to complete her degree in Nutrition at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

After graduating, she spent five years teaching English in South Korea, where she personally experienced the transformative benefits of naturopathic medicine. This experience sparked her passion for holistic healing and led her to pursue a career in naturopathic medicine.

During her clinical internship at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic, she treated a diverse range of patients before returning to her hometown. She is passionate about helping her community and helping patients who are seeking natural alternatives to conventional medicine.

As a general practitioner, Lauren treats a wide range of health concerns, from skin conditions and digestive disorders to chronic illness management. She is committed to providing integrative, patient-centered treatments that support the body’s innate ability to heal and restore balance.

FAQs

What is Naturopathic Medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is a type of healthcare that emphasizes a holistic, natural approach to healing. The goal of naturopathic medicine is to address the root causes of illness and to support the body's innate ability to heal itself. Naturopathic doctors work with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that consider the whole person, including their physical, mental, and emotional health.

How do Naturopathic treatments work with conventional medicine?

Our approach is designed to work in conjunction with conventional medicine when appropriate. We create integrative plans that allow patients to benefit from both natural treatments and pharmaceuticals, coordinating care with your primary physician or specialists as needed.

What should I expect from my first consultation?

During your first consultation, we’ll review your health history, lifestyle, and any concerns or goals you have. Together, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan that may include dietary guidance, supplements, herbal medicine, and lifestyle changes, as well as lab testing recommendations.

Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not accept insurance, but we can provide a superbill for potential reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance provider for specific coverage details. HSA and FSA funds are often eligible for use toward naturopathic visits. Please verify with your specific plan to confirm coverage.

How much does Naturopathic Care cost?

Our consultations are billed at a rate of $250 per hour, in 15 minute increments. Initial consultations can last anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes based on the complexity of the case. Follow-up visits are usually between 15 to 30 minutes. This time is dedicated to understanding your unique needs and creating a comprehensive, personalized plan to support your health goals. • Autoimmune Disease: Sjogren’s, Lupus, Graves’, Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis

Do I need to see Dr. Lauren In Person for a Consultation?

Consultations are possible without having to meet in person. The root cause of conditions are often related to processes that can be narrowed down through an extensive intake and lab testing. Due to this, it is entirely possible to have a consult through Telehealth.

Does Dr. Lauren prescribe HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy)?

She does not prescribe HRT at this time.

Does Hope Naturopathic Offer IV Therapy or B12 Injections?

We do not currently offer any IV therapy or IM/IV Injections, but will let our patients know when it becomes available.
